Daily Bible Verse
Hello Friends in Christ,
This has been an extremely busy season at Houston Camp and I thought I would give you an update on the camp weeks. It all began with the “Joyful Noise Camp” that was the week after school ended. This camp has become something special and this year was no exception. We had great attendance, lots of fun, and great learning as always. I want to thank Happi Keenan and all the counselors and helpers for this great week.
The next week was Youth Camp for ages 12 thru 17. This was our second year and it was super. Camp Pastor Andy Blankenship from Byromville Baptist Church did a great job and God was at work. Thanks to Matt Stephens, pastor of Vienna First, for coordinating the camp and for all the hard work. We then had our Children’s Camps for grades 4-6 under the leadership of Scott Alexander from Cordele First. This was Scott’s first year in leading this camp and he did a great job and God worked and as in every camp, we saw children give their lives to Christ. The final week of camp turned out to be the largest in attendance and may be the most exciting. We were a little overwhelmed when 52 kids from grades 1-3 attended. Under the leadership of Happi, this was a very exciting and eventful week.
I want to say thank you to all the counselors, lifeguards, kitchen workers, churches that provided meals, referees (at times) and especially the camp coordinators for all their hard work and for making this is a most excellent camp season. We praise God that in every camp new names were written in the Book of Life and many young people got closer to God than ever. Thank you churches of Houston Baptist Association for all you do to help, promote, and give, that a child’s life can be changed forever. My prayer is that these camps will continue to grow and we will have such an overwhelming response from kids that Houston Baptist Camp will be known for being a life-changing place for His kingdom.
Please continue to pray for our churches without pastors. We also want to welcome Reverend Ed Sandefur as the new pastor of Bethel Baptist Church.
God Bless You and please continue to pray for me.
